Italy Gran Sasso d'Italia Mountain

This is a beautiful location very close to Gran Sasso d'Italia, the tallest mountain in the Apennine mountain range outside the Alps. There are stunning views of the mountain and on a clear day, the valley of the Campo Imperatore below. On a real clear day, you can see all the way to the Adriatic Sea.

Photography Tips

The spot is on a ridge below the mountains. It can be shot with a range of lenses including wide angle lens and telephoto. A polarizer and nd filters might be helpful depending on the weather and visibility.

Travel Information

The spot can be reached on a narrow and windy road off SP43 from the small town of Prati di Tivo. There is a parking area and the spot is about .5 km on a well-marked trail. It is easy to find.
