The Northern Appennino mountain range has some peculiarities, has a lot of forests, it rains much more than the rest of the nation, the peaks are covered with blueberries, and the Blueberry bush is kinda world champion when it comes to increasing the reds of your foliage pic, but to find it you gotta hike up the slope.

Travel Information

Whether you are around Reggio Emilia, Modena or Lucca get ready for some cornering and head to Civago, once there follow the Battisti Hut (rifugio) and drive on the dirt road to the parking lot, from there the hike to the Bargetana Lake takes about 1/1:30 h.
