Here we are in the inner lands of Marche region, at the very beginning of the central section of the Appennino range, the wildest and the highest sector, the drive from this area to Gran Sasso national park passing trough Castelluccio's plateau and Campotosto Lake is the perfect national park drive to have in central Italy.

I've been there only during sunset and was majestic, I don't know about other hours.

Travel Information

Set Sefro or Fonte di brescia on the gps then drive to the Vermenone summit, the road isn't paved, but slowly, can be reached by most of the cars, if you feel like walking it shouldn't be hard, but consider getting there by car if you wanna shoot the sunset, in the dark wolves are aware.
