Here silence reigns supreme, broken only by the sounds of nature. In the distance stands magnificent Mont Blanc with its chain of peaks that embrace a wealth of heroic and adventurous mountaineering tales. Every year the numerous hikers, tourists and mountain lovers who come here from all over the world are swept away by this wonderful panorama. Thanks to its favourable position, the hut is a resting stop for hikers undertaking the Tour du Mont-Blanc or Alta Via 1, but it’s also a crossing point for various other itineraries

Rifugio Bonatti can be reached in a little over an hour from Val Ferret by traversing larch woods and alpine meadows. It’s set at the foot of the Grandes Jorasses, directly opposite magnificent Fréboudze glacier.
