Italy Peaks of Lana, Italy
This image captures the beautiful mountain scenery as seen from the Verano–Burgstall (Vöran–Burgstall) cable car top station in South Tyrol. From up here you get sweeping views over the Etschtal valley, the surrounding mountain ridges, and the gentle plateau of Verano itself. It’s an easy-to-reach high-altitude viewpoint with a surprisingly peaceful, open atmosphere — meadows, forests, and distant peaks all layered into the landscape.
Photography Tips
The top station offers several natural viewpoints within just a few minutes’ walk. If you want clean layers of mountains like in your photo, shoot during early morning or late afternoon, when the light is softer and creates beautiful depth. A polarizer can help reduce haze in the distance, but shooting into light can also add a dreamy glow depending on your style. Explore the paths around the station — even a few steps away from the main platform open up more minimal, uncluttered compositions.
Travel Information
The Verano–Burgstall lift is incredibly convenient because it’s part of South Tyrol’s public transport system, making the ride up both easy and very affordable. You can also reach Verano by car, which is helpful if you plan to continue exploring the plateau’s villages or viewpoints. At the top you’ll find marked hiking trails, restaurants nearby, and plenty of panoramic spots — making it a perfect half-day adventure whether you're there for photography or simply to enjoy the view.
