Italy Viewpoint from Erice's castle

Perched atop a spectacular rocky outcrop, the Castello Normanno (Norman Castle) in Erice, Sicily, is an impressive historic monument surrounded by lush pine forests. This castle was built using stones from the ancient Temple of Venus, which dates back to the 9th–8th centuries B.C. and served as a sacred site for the worship of the goddess of fertility. Aim for golden hour to get a nice light on the castle and trees. Bring a medium lens (like 24-70mm) to capture the castle in the scenery.

It's a bit tricky to park in the city, so aim to get there very early in high season. If you're here during low season, you might find easily a place to park near the castle. Best is to stay in the village and book something with a private parking !
