Italy Cefalu's Duomo

The Cefalù Cathedral, also known as the Duomo of Cefalù, is one of Sicily’s most important Norman monuments. Built in 1131 by Roger II, the cathedral is famous for its impressive twin towers and magnificent Byzantine mosaics, including a stunning image of Christ Pantocrator. Overlooking the historic center of Cefalù, it is recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Arab-Norman heritage of Sicily.

Check local drone regulations first. You might need to obtain a permit from the local authorities. Early morning is amazing there because there is no one around and the colors are softer. The morning light will "backlight" the duomo.

To travel from Palermo to Cefalù by car, take the A20 motorway eastbound toward Messina. Continue for about 70 km and exit at Cefalù, then follow the local roads into the town center. Parking is difficult in Cefalu especially during high season, so try to get there early.
