The Cave of Poetry (Grotta della Poesia)is a natural pool on the Adriatic coast of Puglia. It's big round opening where you can see clear blue water. You can't swim or jump anymore in the cave.

Photography Tips

Check local drone regulations first. You might need to obtain a permit from the local authorities. The best light is usually in midday, so you don't get too many shadows in the cave.

Make sure you bring a polarizer to avoid unwanted sun glares in the water (and also to make the colors pop a bit more).

Travel Information

The closest city is Otranto, around 25 minutes by car. From Otranto, follow the coast towards Roca Vecchia and then follow the signs for Grotta della Poesia. There is a large paid car park close to the entrance, around 1-2€ per hour depending on the season. From the parking area, it is only a few minutes walking to the cave.
