Italy Baia Mulino d'Acqua

Baia Mulino d’Acqua is a beautiful small bay on the Adriatic coast, just north of Otranto. It has clear blue water, high rocks and small sea caves. The most impressive view is the hole in the rock, that forms a small cove. You can't access it from above but at low tide you can swim/kayak in it.

Photography Tips

Check local drone regulations first. You might need to obtain a permit from the local authorities. The best light is usually is midday.

Make sure you bring a polarizer to avoid unwanted sun glares in the water (and also to make the colors pop a bit more).

Travel Information

From Otranto, it is only around 3.5 km (10min) by car. Follow Via San Francesco di Paola, then Via Papa Giovanni Paolo II and Via Vicinale Santo Stefano. You can try to park at the GPS pin, but know that there are no official parking to go to Baia Mulino d'Acqua. The old path down to the sea should not be used because of cliff-fall risks.
