Photography Tips

Go early !! Matera tends to fill up from 8AM with buses and tours. I would recommend to sleep in a sassi to be able to come early and enjoy the sunrise light that is fantastic. Bring a 24-70mm to get some compression with your model and the city.

Travel Information

Almost the whole old city of Matera is on restricted driving zone (ZTL), so I would recommend to either get an accommodation with a parking space or park outside the city and walk.
