Jamaica DeMontevin's Lodge, Port Antonio, Jamaica

The red brick house with decorative ironworks was build in 1881 and used as a private residence and later a home for executives of the United Fruit Company. Today it serves as a guest house. It lies somewhat elevated on the quiet Titchfield Peninsula, part of the parish capital Port Antonio (parish: Portland).

Photography Tips

A wide angle lens is helpful. A polarizing filter helps to get the deep blue skye. Unfortunately a number of power lines spoil the image, when the building is photographed from a distance.

Travel Information

The Titchfield Penisula is a pretty quiet part of Port Antonio. Street parking is available in front of the Lodge and I usually park there, when I visit Port Antonio.
