Photography Tips

Check the tide before you go. If it's low tide you can walk under the gate, if it's high tide, you can get a view from the border. From inside the shrine, you also have good spots. Entrance to pay.
Sunrise can be good with fewer people and nice light as here.

Travel Information

Easy access from Hiroshima (which you reach by JR bullet train) and regional train. They get the ferry and walk 5 minutes south/west.
