I was walking through Kiyomizu-dera, a Buddhist temple in Kyoto, and looked south up on the hillside. Perched on the side of a hill to the south is the Kiyomizudera Koyasunoto Pagoda. It's a beautiful shot.

Photography Tips

The Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, where you take the shot from, is busy, and a number of these people will hike up to the pagoda. So, I would recommend arriving early in the morning for the shot.

Travel Information

From Kyoto Station, take the 206 city bus. Check on Google Maps as to which drop-off would be nearest to Kiyomizu-dera. After you get off the bus, head east up the hill until you reach Kiyomizu-dera. The pagoda is up on the hillside, south of the temple.
