This shrine is one of these, where you immediately can feel the energy at this place. The atmosphere deep in the woods with all these old abandoned stones and creatures is from an other planet.

As well this shrine was the inspiration for the anime "Into the forest of Fireflies Light".

Photography Tips

I would recommend for checking out the weather conditions during your stay in Aso-Nationalpark. If you have a foggy, cloudy day it is so much more worth it to come to this place cause the mystic atmosphere makes it special here.

Travel Information

I would recommend to book a rental car for Kyushu. The parking lot is directly next to the temple.
