Japan View to Komezuka crater, Mt. Kishima Circuit

Aso-Kuju National Park, located in central Kyushu, Japan, is home to some of the country’s most dramatic volcanic landscapes. Place a person for scale and wait for the best sunset light here. There is a high potential chance in spring and autumn for a hazy atmosphere.

Park next to the Aso Volcano Museum and walk a bit along the road until you get a good perspectives with the forest in the foreground and the crater right behind it.

Always inform yourself at the visitor center which hikes are possible at the day and which ones are closed due to the volcano activity. There can be changes every day. So be aware here in this region!

For this hike you need around 45-60 minutes up to the peak. At the beginning there are a lot of steps. At the end it is just gravel, which is feasible.
