Japan Hakone Shrine near Ashi lake

Hakone Shrine stands at the foot of Mount Hakone along the shores of Lake Ashinoko. The shrine buildings are hidden in the dense forest, but are well advertised by its huge torii gates, one standing prominently in the lake and two others over the main street of Moto-Hakone.

Photography Tips

Use an unsharp foreground for more dynamic and a better more interesting perspective. Sometimes it is a good tool instead of just doing a picture from a building without any modern composition.

Travel Information

Hakone is reachable from Tokyo by train. Once in the area, you can move with minibuses, boats and even gondolas.

As well you can travel to this place by our own rental car. Parking lots are available directly at the temple / shrine.
