Japan Sanmon Gate, Nanzenji temple, Kyoto
The Philosopher's Path is a pleasant stone path through the northern part of Kyoto's Higashiyama district. The approximately two kilometers long way begins around Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) and ends in the neighborhood of Nanzenji. On its way you can feel the beautiful silence in the nearby parks, rivers or temples. Different street artist are showing their work here on the way.
Photography Tips
Important notice: Be respectful and kind to Japanese people. Don´t do pictures without asking them. Just be friendly, tell them about your intention and idea. I never had problems after this strategy and was always allowed to do some pictures.

Park your bicycle at the beginning of the path. There are a lot of possibilities. Take at least one full day for the way. Here you have so much nice and detailed things to explore. You can learn a lot about the history and culture of this beautiful country.
