Japan Mt Norikura
The top of mount norikura
Photography Tips
Bring a tripod and an ND filter if you want to get the soft cloud movement. there are a lot of nice spots along the way
Travel Information
you can arrive from matsumoto with a train and bus (you could buy the kamikochi-norikura 2 day pass as i did), take the train from matsumoto (JR station - the trip is not covered by the JR pass) to kamikochi station and then take the bus to norikura kogen. once in norikura, take the second pass the brings you to the base camp and start climbing.
it's very windy.
the climb takes around 2-3 hours - depending on your fitness (Old japanese ladies did it so you can do it too!)
you cant be there at sunrise or sunset unfortunately because the last bus leaves early from the basecamp and you don't want to miss it.
