Japan Tenryu-ji Temple Garden View
Tenryu-ji offers a quieter and more intimate photography experience compared to Kyoto’s more famous temples. From inside the wooden temple, you get a perfectly framed view of the garden, blending architecture and nature into one scene.
The soft light entering from the side creates a calm, almost meditative atmosphere. The combination of tatami flooring, wooden structures, and the natural landscape outside gives the image a strong sense of balance and simplicity.
It’s less about a single landmark and more about the feeling of the place — calm, warm, and timeless.

Photography Tips
Use the building structure (doors, pillars, roof) as a natural frame
Slightly underexpose to keep the highlights under control
Shoot in soft light (morning or late afternoon works best)
Keep your composition clean and minimal
A focal length around 20–35mm (full-frame equivalent) works well
Focus on light and shadow — that’s what makes the image
