Sam Poh Tong Temple is a serene Chinese Buddhist temple built into a limestone cave, located in the outskirts of Ipoh. Known for its multi-tiered pagoda architecture, the temple blends harmoniously with the surrounding cliffs and tropical foliage.

Photography Tips

A wide-angle lens (16–35mm) helps capture the temple structure and surrounding cliffs. Use the trees and foreground fountain for natural framing and depth. Tripod can come in handy if you’re shooting in lower light or doing HDR.

Travel Information

Sam Poh Tong is easily reachable by car or Grab from central Ipoh (about 10–15 minutes). There’s free parking and no entrance fee. The grounds are peaceful but can get hot by midday, so bring water. It’s a respectful religious site - be mindful of worshippers.
