the 400 m long parklike promenade was built by Grand Master Lascaris in 1656, originally served the grounds for the Knights "Maglio", a golf-like game, had to be transported at the wooden ball with rackets on a goal. The surrounding walls were removed in 1942, nine sculptures Maltese dignitaries adorn the promenade.
