Lower Barrakka Gardens is a small but impressive garden located on the city walls of Valletta, overlooking the Grand Harbour. The elevated position, arches and balustrades offer strong viewpoints down to the water and across to the Three Cities. Despite its compact size, the spot allows for a lot of variety in compositions.
Photography Tips
You can get amazing angles here by moving around and changing your position slightly. Use the arches, railings and city walls as framing elements to add depth to your shots. Both wide-angle and tighter compositions work well, depending on how much of the harbour you want to include.
Travel Information
Parking is available throughout the city, but you need to be lucky to find a free spot. The best option is to use a parking garage, which allows you to stay in Valletta all day. From there, it’s an easy walk to the gardens.
