Republic Street is the main street of Valletta, running straight through the historic city center. The consistent architecture, balconies and slight elevation changes make it a strong location for urban compositions, especially when looking down the street.

Photography Tips

Use a telephoto lens to compress the scene and make the buildings stack visually. This works especially well from elevated positions or slight slopes along the street. Keep the composition centered and clean, and wait for moments with fewer people to reduce clutter.

Travel Information

Parking follows the same situation as elsewhere in Valletta: street parking is limited and depends on luck. The best option is to use a parking garage, which allows you to stay in the city all day, and walk to Republic Street from there.
