Malta Anchor Bay - Popeye Village
Anchor Bay / Popeye Village is one of the recommended locations for tourists who want to get out of the urban area of the capital.
Photography Tips
In my opinion, sunset is the best time of day for photography. I think for a more panoramic frame, a wide focal length is the most suitable. However, this does not mean that you cannot take beautiful frames with focal lengths over 24mm. A tripod, a polarizing filter or an ND filter are things that can help, although they are not mandatory.
Travel Information
You can get here both by car and by bus, the bus stop being right at the entrance to Popeye Village. I used the bus, coming from Sliema and the trip took about 1h30', including the bus change and waiting times. Be careful though that the 101 bus, the only one that runs there, has a rather strange schedule. So, if on the way there I was lucky and waited max 10 min, when I left I waited for the bus for at least 30 minutes.
If you are by car it is easier, the parking is right next to the bus stop. I don't know if the parking is paid or not, but I saw that it is big enough so that you don't have to worry about not finding a place to park.
