Inwa (noto come Ava ), situato nella regione di Mandalay , Myanmar , è un'antica capitale imperiale di successivi regni birmani dal XIV al XIX secolo. Nel corso della storia fu saccheggiata e ricostruita numerose volte. La capitale fu definitivamente abbandonata dopo essere stata distrutta da una serie di forti terremoti nel marzo 1839 .
