Netherlands Inntel Hotels, Zaandam
The Inntel Hotels Zaandam is situated on the promenade leading to Zaandam Central Station. The building features overlapping green wooden facades typical of traditional houses in the region and is definitely an eye dropper to anyone passing by. The iconic green wooden houses of the Zaan region were the fount of inspiration for the hotel’s designer, Wilfried van Winden (WAM architecten, Delft). The structure is a lively stacking of various examples of these traditional houses, ranging from a notary’s residence to a worker’s cottage.
Photography Tips
I had 24-70mm with me and felt too squeezed. A wider lens would be much preferable. This promenade can also turn busy depending on the time of day. Going there during sunrise gives you time to set up your composition. The golden hour light hitting the green facade makes the site beautiful.
