This is a prime location for photographing the Northern Lights in North Holland. The estuary is protected with good reason, so don't tread on its fragile soil. Many bird species have nests there.

Looking north, it's close to the only location without light pollution in North Holland with a clear view north.

Travel Information

Follow along the N99 between Den Helder and Den Oever. Take the exit on the roundabout near Hippolytushoef, and park at the dead-end of Normerweg. There's space for 3 cars there.
