Grand Hotel & Theatre Gooiland in Hilversum, the Netherlands. This wonderful building was designed in 1934 by Dutch architect Jan Duiker. The style is typical “Neues Bauen”, this modern design started around the 1920’s. The building was in serious decay during the eighties and the city council of Hilversum sold a very famous painting by Piet Mondriaan, “Lozenge Composition with Two Lines” for 2,5 million guilders, in order to finance the renovation.
