Netherlands Moddergat at the Dutch Mudflats
Moddergat (meaning in Dutch "Mud Hole") is a small fisherman’s village along the northern coast of the Netherlands. The small houses are all nestled behind the dyke that protects them from harsh weather but at the same time blind their sight from the sea. The Mudflats area is a world heritage site.
