Roaring Meg power station New Zealand

The outflow from the Roaring Meg power station flows into the Kawarau River. On the other side of the road is a small scenic reserve that has the Roaring Meg stream that can also provide some decent water over rocks shots.
Nice autumn tones if you are there at the right time of year.

Travel Information

This spot is right on the main highway between Cromwell and Queenstown. It is a very busy and winding road. The main car park is on the left side of the road as you are driving into Queenstown. So it is safer to stop heading in this direction to prevent having to cross the traffic.
