Icebergs can accumulate at the south end of Tasman Lake near the river mouth if the wind is been blowing from the north.
Its a longer walk to river mouth than the viewpoint, but you do get closer to the icebergs.

There is plenty of parking and the walk to this spot is mostly along a gentle incline. The track is well form and maintained.
