This was the scene from the Kepler Track at sunrise. I left the hut around 6AM and headed towards Brod Bay. Sunrise above the clouds was amazing

Photography Tips

Easy access to this spot. Very well marked and graded trail. It is on a New Zealand Great Walk, so if you want to stay in the hut, reservations must be made in advance.

Travel Information

From the Kepler Car Park (in Te Anau) it is a 5-6 hour walk, uphill (800 meter climb). The views on a clear day are definitely worth it, but Fiordland weather is notoriously rainy and can change quickly. Pack rain gear even on sunny day.
