Photography Tips

If you don’t want to freeze the waterfall, you will need a very steady hand plus a good stabilizer; alternatively bring a tripod or something to rest your camera on, like a bean bag.

Travel Information

The falls can be reached via a 10-minute walk from Papatowai Highway, as the main road through the Catlins is called here. Plan for at least two days in the Catlins as travel is slow and there is plenty to see and do.
