Fond memories, Donavan. Thanks. The sea there has a strong undercurrent. Lifesavers used to patrol the area centred between the flags in a "fizz boat", hauling swimmers back to the beach when they got into difficulty, and they were often busy - the water is warm and the surf is inviting. I wouldn't advise swimming there if there are no life guards about.

Hi Edward although I swim all year round in Sydney in the ocean I hardly swim when away for the reason you outlined. A beautiful spot
