The Southern Scenic Route from Queenstown to the Fiordland National Park offers great views next to Lake Wakatipu along the road. Surrounded by sometimes dramatical clouds in the mountains the atmosphere is even more beautiful.

Photography Tips

Use a 70-200mm lens for some closer dramatic shots like this. During the blue hour I would prefer a tripod to minimize the unsharpness from a shot out of the hand.

Travel Information

During this drive along the road there are several parking options for pictures. Just use them wherever you want to and take your time at this street.
