New Zealand Duke´s Nose (Kaiaraara Rocks), Totara North
Duke´s Nose is a rock on top of a smaller mountain and offers great views into the bays and curvy indentations. The step formed cliffs complete the fantastic view.
This spot is on the opposite side of the rock. You need to go through some bushes on the rock to find it.

Photography Tips
Use the end of the sunrise for some shots in the opposite direction. The light is still good, but not to hard. Especially there will be a cool play between light and shadow on the rocks.
Travel Information
This 10,3 km out-and-back trail with around 528 meter of elevation is a moderate hike and requires a normal level of fitness. Just at the end of the trail is a climbing section with some ladders. If it was rainy the days before the river stream crossing after half of the way can be a bit tricky. So take care on slippery sections.
