The Maungapiko Hill is an impressive little view point which offers spectacular views over one of the best beaches of the country.

Photography Tips

You would need an ultra wide angle here to get this wide open area into the frame. Definitely don't miss the river. Sunsets work best here.

Travel Information

The camping is a bookable campsite and offers plenty of space. The hike is protected and you need to clear with the campground and the local people to go up top which never is a problem. It's just a nice gesture.

Take enough mosquitos spray. Ive never seen a place with that many in my entire life!!
