New Zealand Te Hoho Rock
Te Hoho Rock is a dramatic limestone sea stack rising from the water at Cathedral Cove / Te Whanganui-a-Hei on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand, celebrated for its striking shape and scenic frame through the cove’s natural archway.
Photography Tips
When the water of the waves is flowing in and out, sometimes beautifully clear reflection will be created. If fast and flexible in moving (no tripod!), you can catch those.
Travel Information
Access Te Hoho Rock via the Cathedral Cove walk from the Cathedral Cove car park near Hahei, a scenic track that takes about 30–45 minutes each way. From the beach, Te Hoho is visible just offshore, best seen at low tide or from a kayak.
