New Zealand Kepler Track Fjord Lookout
The Kepler Track is one of New Zealand's Great Walks, leading hikers through ancient beech forests, alpine ridgelines, mountain tussock, and pristine lakeshores in the heart of Fiordland National Park. This section is full with narrow ridges, perfect for adventure shots.
Photography Tips
When you are alone and you want to take a photo of yourself for the adventure character or you want just some scale, take a tripod and set your camera to a self-timer shutter or interval-mode with photos every few seconds. Hence, you get a variety of shots of yourself. Make sure to set the focus point to a rock or stone or something similar on which you place yourself.
Travel Information
Thew trail covers around 60 km through Fiordland National Park. Most hikers complete the trail in three to four days, reaching its highest point at Mount Luxmore (1,472 m / 4,829 ft). The track is considered moderately challenging and is best experienced during the Great Walk season from late October to April, when huts and facilities are fully operational. Be early with reservations since this is a quite popular Great Walk.
