New Zealand Kepler Track Hike
The Kepler Track is one of New Zealand's Great Walks, leading hikers through ancient beech forests, alpine ridgelines, mountain tussock, and pristine lakeshores in the heart of Fiordland National Park. Once passing Luxmore summit, the views opening up to the massive mountains and fjords to the north.
Photography Tips
Scale your frame. When you do not have a tripod or being not with 2 people, maybe you just kindly ask people if it would be okay to take a shot of a silhouette for scale. It adds up a lot to the frame.
Travel Information
Thew trail covers around 60 km through Fiordland National Park. Most hikers complete the trail in three to four days, reaching its highest point at Mount Luxmore (1,472 m / 4,829 ft). The track is considered moderately challenging and is best experienced during the Great Walk season from late October to April, when huts and facilities are fully operational. Be early with reservations since this is a quite popular Great Walk.
