New Zealand Forest Kepler Track
The forests of the Kepler Track are dominated by ancient native southern beech trees draped in mosses, ferns, and lichens, creating a lush, temperate rainforest atmosphere. These pristine woodlands are home to native birds such as the tūī, bellbird, and South Island robin, making the walk as rich in wildlife as it is in scenery.
Photography Tips
Have a good eye on the exposure with the histogram to avoid clipping highlights in the forest.
Travel Information
This section is after the alpine section and quite some stretch of a walk. Take enough water and also start with warmer layers as you might stay long in the shade of the forest, which is also quite moist.
