The Canterbury region is home to some of New Zealand's most diverse landscapes, stretching from the Pacific coastline to the towering Southern Alps. Snow-capped peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, braided rivers, and vast high-country plains define this spectacular region, with Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park at its alpine heart.

Take a bigger zoom lens with you to capture the amazing details of the first glow of sunlight on the diverse peaks.

These mountains lie deep within the Godley Valley which is not easily accessible. You either need a 4x4 car and experience in river crossings or make your way over several days by foot. Take always a beacon with you since there will be absolutely no reception in that area.
