This lake one of the most beautiful and sacred ones "near" Cusco. Its turquoise water with the mountains of Salkantay (6,270 m) in the background is just outstanding.

Photography Tips

Go for sunrise and use the panorama option. Drone is only possible with a permit, which can be purchased through companys or from the locals in a cooperation / against a fee. Than it is only possible with verifiable drone license that you need to have with you!

Travel Information

From the marked parking lot you can start the 7km (round trip) hike. Plan more time for the way there, because it is basically permanently quite steep upwards.
