The Muelle de Pimentel is a historic pier on Playa Pimentel, west of Chiclayo in Peru’s Lambayeque Region. Built in 1911, the pier is 695 metres long and is the longest in the country. Although it no longer serves its original purpose, it remains a popular place to visit. At the far end of the pier, there is an interpretation centre with a small photographic exhibition.

Photography Tips

Like everywhere in the Peruvian coast, the best pictures are taken near sunset.

Travel Information

The pier is located on the seafront in Pimentel and is easily reached from the town’s malecón and beach area. Pimentel lies west of Chiclayo and can be reached by taxi or local public transport. Walk a little to the left of the pier's entrance to find this composition.
