Philippines Tutulari Avatar Gorge
Tutulari Avatar Gorge in Porac, Pampanga is a 500-meter moss-covered slot canyon within the ancestral domain of the local Aeta community. Formed by lahar shifts after the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption, its towering sandstone walls, trickling water, and dramatic overhead light gaps evoke the movie Avatar.
Photography Tips
I would bring a neutral density filter because you cannot control the time you get there. but the great thing is is you can take as long as you want in the Gorge and get as many photos as you want.
Travel Information
To visit the Tutulari Avatar Gorge in Barangay Inararo, Porac, Pampanga, travel first to SM Clark or Angeles City from Manila by bus or car. Because DIY entry is not permitted on the Aeta ancestral domain, you must book a guided 4x4 off-road tour (such as via Pinatubo Mountainero) that departs from Clark for the rugged 45-to-60-minute lahar trail ride to the site.
