This is the second concentration camp built in southern Poland, after Auschwitz, where the significant extermination of prisoners occurred in the Nazi system. It is at times overwhelming when walking through the environs and considering the immense suffering.

Photography Tips

Arrive early before the crowds though it is more open than Auschwitz 1. Inside there is a rail car which makes for a nice foreground when looking back along the rail track with the barracks and entry gate as the background.

Travel Information

Easy drive and parking. There is a small parking fee and entry is free. A guide service is available if wanted.
