Poland Auschwitz
Auschwitz was a network of Nazi concentration and extermination camps during World War II, located in occupied Poland near the town of Oswiecim. The most notorious of these was **Auschwitz-Birkenau**, where over 1 million people, primarily Jews, were murdered in gas chambers, through forced labor, starvation, and medical experiments. The camp has become a symbol of the Holocaust and is now a memorial and museum, serving as a sad reminder of the atrocities committed during the Nazi regime.
