Poland Stadion Narodowy (PGE Narodowy), National Stadium
PGE Narodowy (National Stadium), Warsaw, Poland — Opened in 2012 on the site of the former 10th-Anniversary Stadium, this striking modern arena is Poland’s largest football venue, with a seating capacity of 58,580. Located along Zieleniecka Avenue in the Praga Południe district, near Warsaw’s city center, the stadium features a retractable PVC roof suspended from a central spire—an architectural feat inspired by stadiums in Frankfurt and Vancouver. It serves as the home ground of the Poland national football team and regularly hosts international football matches, including the opening game, a quarter-final, and a semi-final of UEFA Euro 2012. The venue also staged the 2015 UEFA Europa League Final and the 2024 UEFA Super Cup. Designed as a multipurpose facility, PGE Narodowy accommodates concerts, sporting events, exhibitions, and conferences. It is equipped with a heated pitch, training grounds, a glowing facade, and underground parking. Despite its prestige, structural concerns led to the temporary closure of its roof in 2022.
