Portugal Paróquia de Santa Maria de Válega, Portugal
In the district of Ovar lies the small town of Valega. A spectacular parochial church, Santa Maria de Valega, also called the church of Valega, with its facade covered with multicoloured tiles (azulejos) facing a well-kept cemetary makes this small town a true gem well-worth visiting. The church was built between the XVIII and the XIX centuries, but the azulejos are from the XX century.
Photography Tips
This amazing place is a bit off the A29 highway in Portugal but is well worth visiting. Best time to come is towards the afternoon when the sun is in your back. You might get lucky to visit inside the chapel but strolling around the well kept cemetery is an experience and an Azulejo's delight.
