The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a stunning cable-stayed bridge in Lisbon, Portugal, and one of the longest in Europe. Spanning the Tagus River, it stretches for about 17.2 kilometers (10.7 miles), making it the longest bridge in Portugal. Opened in 1998, it was built to ease congestion on the 25 de Abril Bridge and provide a direct route to the Lisbon airport and surrounding areas.
